Zone VI 2013

Zone VI in Zimbabwe - December 2013

The Namibian gymnasts took part in the Zone competition in Harare in Zimbabwe last December from the 9th to the 14th of December.  All sections were present namely: Trampoline and Tumbling, Women's and Men's Artistic, Rhythmic and Aerobics.

I have only the results of the T&T section available.  All gymnasts did an excellent job and brought back to Namibia several medals.  The T&T section brought back  16 medals,  6 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze medals. 

The competition was organised fairly well with some issues at the last competition that were addressed to get the competition done.  The results showed that Namibian gymnasts does not have to stand back for their counterparts in Africa.  They all practice through the year and one word of thanx to all the coaches who have done a marvelous job of preparing their gymnasts.

The Junior Female team that won Gold Medals in the Team section in both Trampoline and Double-mini trampoline. From ltr: Jahntwa Kruger, Erica Kesslau, Charlize van Zyl and Michelle Lourens.

The Junior Male team that won Gold Medals in the Team section in the Double-mini trampoline. From Ltr: Erich Kessalau, Bernhardt Slabbert, Naude Krone and Lance Potgieter.

Trampoline Jnr Female Champion: Charlize van Zyl, Carane van Zyl with Silver.

Trampoline Jnr Male Champion: Lance Potgieter, Bernhardt Slabbert with Bronze.

Mini Trampoline: Graham Cilliers Silver, Petri Bruwer Bronze.

The Namibian youngsters: Carane van Zyl, Mia van Zyl and Marselle Slabbert (Mini-trampoline).
